I would say he's smart, sometimes to smart, as in hey yous tin't catch me then I'm going to do what I want. He's well behaved on leash. Once he's had his run/fun off charter he volition stay close and "guard" by laying around and exploring within eye contact. Usually he's good with strangers merely I tin never relax because he will lounge & nip when they walk away. Equally in I'g not washed with you yet, where are you going! He uses his front teeth to pinch so it hurts but doesn't draw claret. Definitely behavior we are working on to stop. I don't know how big he'll get, he'due south nigh 55 lbs now, I've heard information technology takes 2 years for a pyrenees to mature I'm hoping he doesn't get to much bigger. Daddy is a large Border Collie, mama is a moderate size pyrenees.

He is very protective of united states of america. he is extremely affectionate, alarm and watchful. Very ambitious toward other dogs and also toward strangers. He lunges at and wants to chase aggressively after cars, cyclists and other walkers so we have to be very careful when walking him. Over $1,000 worth of training hasn't helped much. They are but extremely good guard dogs and guard and protect their owners and family better than most dogs do. He is very calm and tolerant in one case he knows you lot. He is super sweetness and mellow. He looks at you deeply when he gets corrected. He pee marks (merely non good trait -and we are working on that). We have had him three weeks and he is amazing. He can already run next to the bike on a pole attached to the bicycle. He loves his 9 yr old dog sister and plays really roughly with her. He is corking in his crate. He tin can lie effectually for hours also like an older canis familiaris. He wants to lick a lot but we have worked on that and he knows not to lick. He is dandy with all people and all dogs as long as huge dogs arent charging him. Then he gets scared. He can play gently with small dogs or rough with dogs that want to play rough. He sits while I play volleyball for iii hours and merely waits and visits with those who want to pet him. On a leash, he may bump into me. Otherwise, he is very skillful at healing like he is an old soul. Sometimes, he pretends he doesn't know how to sit down and looks at me similar: I don't feel like it. That'due south his stubborn side! He is really good at sharing toys and bones and treats with our other domestic dog who is a 9 year old border collie mix who used to not allow whatsoever dogs in our house. She gets forth with kids and loves other dogs/plays and then well with them - even our in-laws pug. She never exercises her strength over the pug's, even though she could brand a meal out of it. When we're abode bound because of the weather, we volition play "keep away" where she will have a toy and I'll chase her. She loves it. We never stop trying to teach her new things, but she'southward a trivial stubborn 😉. Her coat is a chocolate-brown tricolor or "Sable" glaze. When she was a puppy, she looked similar she was wearing eye liner and her ears were soft and floppy - they notwithstanding kind of are. She is a clever girl who tolerates our often grouchy cat very well. She, too, thinks she should exist a lap dog and volition rest her front legs on your lap and try to snuggle in. She has the softest ears and the fur on her head is lovely. She loves when our 17 year former son takes a toy & she needs to decide which way to race through the house to get to him (and then he switches one-half manner and goes the other way and they try to outsmart each other- a kind of keep away game). Bringing Nollie dwelling was the very best decision we've made. She is incredibly loyal to both her parents, she follows us room to room, and loves healthy snacks like carrots and celery (which is peachy since she's nutrient motivated). She is an "aggressive" chewer just because she's and then trainable she (ordinarily) knows what she can chew and what'due south off limits (she is just 8 months quondam afterwards all). Nosotros don't currently have a big yard, however what's there is fenced in and nosotros throw the ball or snowballs (we live in CT) back and forth for a while and she seems to exist entertained and exercised well. We're as well regulars at the dog park. We cannot wait to buy a abode with substantial country though. Her barking is e'er kept to a minimum however she does utilise her voice when alerting us of some one at the door or in the hallway. I'm relieved that she's such a loyal guard dog and is also great with humans - adults, kids, man, adult female, she merely want to be hugged by you lot. She has the softest coat I've ever felt on a canis familiaris... and the fluff from her Pyrenees mix?! It's the all-time. So far at viii months there's bare;y whatsoever shedding. I'thou bold this will change every bit the atmospheric condition gets warmer. Health: She plays very very well with dogs of all sizes and ages, withal, we've had to go on play at a minimum recently because she was diagnosed with Hypertrophic osteodystrophy (HOD) which is caused by an inflammation in the growth plates of her long bones - her'due south connecting to her shoulders. She'll near likely need surgery at some bespeak - she'south worth every penny. I practice recommend getting pet insurance... not but considering of my experience with her shoulders, merely considering this breed is very affordable to insure (as we establish out having signed up for i with neat coverage, and some other for this [now] pre-existing condition), and the likelihood of them getting lath, chewing something upwardly and eating it is high. two friends of mine who've had edge collies had to get towels removed from their dog's intestines after the dog got bored and swallowed partial or one time, a whole kitchen hand towel. Bottom line, we found our perfect pupperoni and love the snot out of her. 10/10 highly recommend. My my they're cute.

A bit wearisome to railroad train while very young, getting easier and smarter equally they age. Seem to be very sturdy as they tackle each other quite often. He is around 85 lbs and she is lxx and it is currently August. With his weight he definitely has the border when playing but the female never gives in and she can take him down with some pretty smart maneuvers. They play in the same style as we play football and run down our 100' by 200' dorsum yard in a hurry. She volition lead him around by grabbing his collar which is quite funny. All in fun, but nosotros have to be careful when the grass is moisture or has dew on it. When it is wet, information technology is not rubber for them to play like they like to. We accept to monitor them constantly when playing in the yard every bit they can get likewise crude! They are at present about 95% expert at staying in their own yard and may occasionally chase i our cats into the neighbors yard, but they now know where the boundaries are and that they are not allowed out of their yard without having a leash on. We have no fence and nosotros practice have electric beep/shock collars on them when they go outside, simply I think in some other week we won't be needing them. They take boggling hearing simply they tin can play the game "I don't hear you." Their very loud & persistent barking at annihilation that moves can be daunting when they are young, over again they are getting better as they go older. They like to play with our 14 year old German Shephard/Chow (Max) and they actually seem to look subsequently him. He is getting older and fragile but his bark or nip still rules! Max was getting very lazy concluding year and that is why we went to await for a companion for him and these two pups brought life back into him that we idea was gone for good. For some reason when Max is up moving effectually the house, the pups ever want to walk in front of him and put their face right in his. Not sure why, simply they seem to like that he is up and walking around and they exercise coax him to play and sometimes he does. The only notable problems nosotros have had with the pups is throwing their food upward (nosotros've learned non to mix soft food with hard nutrient because they eat the hard nutrient whole when doing this, give them smaller portions, and don't let them gulp so much h2o, specially have coming in from out side (yes they always have access to water, they just tend to drink ALOT after playing), and just within the last month we have to continuously clean their ears which seem to be draining. We make full up two kiddie pools for them when it is hot and don't know if this is what started the ear issue, every bit they love to put their head underwater, but we only cheque them in one case a day to exist certain they're equally clean as we tin become them. [I would not recommend having these dogs in a warmer climate if you practice not have ac] As I was reading other replies, we also love our dogs way more than we should, just how does one control love? Big dogs are a chain and ball for people that similar to travel merely we chose them over that freedom when nosotros brought them home. We would exercise it once again! We similar to allow our dogs to have fun and every bit much freedom as possible rather than exist abiding correcting and I believe our dogs reward the states for that freedom equally they are truly Happy Pups! They all the same chew the stuffing out of a new toy near on a daily ground just hey... they're only here once. Please don't clip their pilus or remove their dew-claws (we do trim them)! The hair and claws are there for a reason and if God didn't want them to have them, they wouldn't be there. If our dogs haven't torn a dew-claw off, I don't think it's a business concern. We rescued Luke two weeks ago at 4 one/two or v 1/2 months (at that place were two rescue organizations and they didn't agree on age). So now he's either 5 or vi months former. He is very sweet, appreciating and somewhat submissive to other dogs. At offset, nosotros thought he was afraid of people but now wants to approach EVERYBODY with a very friendly, cute attitude. He is already housebroken (I trained him to the bell-on-the-door method) but he always wants to band it now. Has periods of puppy crazies but we just take him to the park and he runs back and forth between my husband and me. Then he can sleep for several hours. Great in his kennel at night -- we keep it in our bedroom and I have to wake him in the morning. I think an accommodating expert mix between border collie ( l%) and Pyr (25%). The rest of the mix is unknown but could be Rottweiler (has zero Rottie traits except loyalty) and a few others.

Pastimes

Willowbear is 53 pounds with long dense fur that at this betoken seems more similar a border collie than a Pyr. White legs, muzzle, chest, underside and tip of tail with the remainder, grey/tan with some black highlights. Badger markings on face have faded a lot just even so has a few faint freckles on nose and dark eyeliner around almond shaped optics. Great traveller (xv hour drive home at 10 weeks old with no problem). Good at sit and go out it and ordinarily good at loose leash walking/heel. Think poor even though we work on it a lot; specially poor retrieve at the beach or near shorebirds or when stalking lizards in the back garden. That pyr independence!! Several types of barks with yips meaning come up play (spray me with water - yup loves that) and deep barks meaning there is an intruder. Very easy to housetrain. Strong nutrient drive. Relatively piffling inappropriate chewing merely she gets 2-v walks a day of 30-sixty+ minutes each. Excellent with young children, loves to roll over and so they can stroke her tum. Groovy with dogs of all sizes, adjusting play style to accommodate the size and blazon of dog. She'southward lovely.

Holly is such a sweet girl. She has more energy than I expected, only calms downwardly with energy and treats. She is so so cuddly and loves people with her whole heart. She does have a college casualty drive when it comes to the cat in the apartment, simply is responding well to preparation to "exit it". She requires pretty frequent grooming and hates being brushed, simply nosotros get it washed!!
